Admission Requirements

Department of Electrical Engineering Regulations for Foreign Student Admission

Approved 29 December 1999

Amended 8 December 2005

Article 1

The following regulations are set in accordance with the relevant rules published by NTUT and the Electrical Engineering Department.

Article 2

Foreign students who are high school graduates are eligible to apply for the four-year undergraduate programs. Students who are graduates from vocational schools are eligible to apply for the two-year undergraduate program. And, students with a bachelor degree are eligible to apply for graduate study in Masters Program.

Article 3

Applications from foreign students will be screened by a department committee, reviewed by the Dean of Academic Affairs, and then, if accepted, approved by the president for the issuing of a letter of admission.

Article 4

The department committee screens foreign student applications based on the submitted documents.

Article 5

The above regulations will be enacted after being approved by both the department affairs committee and the academic affairs office of NTUT. Any amendments to the existing regulations will follow the same procedure.

 

Review Rules and Entrance Requirements for Foreign Student Admission

(1) Undergraduate Program
Enrolled Department Review Rule Required Documents
Undergraduate Program, Department of Electrical Engineering Review by Submitted Documentation TOEFL score or equivalent English test score/certificate, transcripts with ranking, any documents demonstrating the applicant’s potential for study.
(2) Master Program
Enrolled Department Review Rule Required Documents
Master Program, Department of Electrical Engineering Review by Submitted Documentation TOEFL score or equivalent English test score/certificate, GRE General test score, transcript with ranking, GRE Subject test score (option)
(3) Ph.D. Program
Enrolled Department Review Rule Required Documents
Ph.D. Program, Department of Electrical Engineering Review by Submitted Documentation Abstract of master's degree thesis or academic papers in English, TOEFL score or equivalent English test score/certificate
Note:
  1. In the admission letter, the Ph.D. applicant will be assigned to a specific advisor according to his specialty and study plan.  
  2. Exchange students are ruled by the agreement of the exchange programs with our sister schools
